This term we’re introducing ‘show and tell’ into our timetable.This will give the children the opportunity to use their communication skills to talk about something they bring in from home.

Please only bring 1 item into school for each session. It might be a….

Transdisciplinary theme: How we express

ourselves

Central idea: Through play we express our feelings and ideas and come to new understandings.

Tuning In

*This week we have been tuning into our new UOI. We have been playing with different junk materials, for example, cardboard boxes, plastic bottles and lolly sticks. We read the book ‘Not A Box’ to find some ideas.

We were thinking about our favourite things to play with and if we needed to buy toys from the shop to be able to play.

We have also been re-designing our classroom to include materials we want to use in our learning areas.

  

Next Week we will be..... 

Literacy  

* Read the story - The 3 Billy Goats Gruff.

* Continue to learn the jolly phonics letter sounds. 

* 'Show and tell' practise speaking and listening in-front of others.

Maths - Positional Language

* Learning positional language - under, over, next to, on top of etc.

* Counting forwards and backwards from 1 to 20.

* Solving mathematical problems.
