Monster Maths

Christmas Event

Theme - Christmas Stories

Early years will be singing a song about the book
'The Elves and the Shoemaker'

We would like all children to dress as Elves for the performance and so children can wear red or green clothes. We will make hats and elf ears for the children in class as part of our Christmas activities. Please do not buy anything special for the costume but try to use clothes you already have as we try to support sustainability and reuse and recycle in our effort to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Below are some examples of what your child might wear:

Please come to school with your child/ren for their conference. When the conference has finished you can take them home with you. There will be no school in the afternoon

Mr Dinosaur

Well done to Harry who took Mr Dinosaur home over the weekend.
Harry has been listening and concentrating in class. He has tried really hard and should be proud of himself.

This Week......

UOI - How We Express Ourselves

Central Idea

We explore and make sense of the world through the stories we tell.

Lines Of Inquiry

*How we tell stories through imaginative play (function)

*How we build relationships through talking and mark making (connection)

*How stories can be created through materials (change)

We will link our UOI to storytelling in English.
We're thinking about our final project. We will choose to make a story sack, story box or story book about Little Red Riding Hood.

- Beginning to learn how to blend and segment simple CVC words. i.e sat, cat, pat.
